I have worked in the electronics industry for more than 35 years, first for Texas Instruments, then 27 years in IBM; latterly as an independent consultant running my own company, Compliance Europe Ltd and with Hursley EMC Services
As Chairman of the EMC Notified Bodies (ECANB) I was a member of the SLIM Working Group responsible for the revision of the EMC Directive now published as 2004/108 and also editor of the group that produced the Guidelines to the new directive. I also represent them on the EU Commission EMC Working Party.
In the UK, I am responsible for the operation of the EMC Test Laboratory Association (EMCTLA) which coordinates the technical activities of the EMC test labs.
I am also on the BSi EMC Committees GEL210, 210/11 and 210/12 as well as convenor of CENELEC WG(9) responsible for the EMC guide for testing military equipment.
